Straw yellow white wine, with a floral scent and great softness, ideal to accompany the best fish dishes of Italian haute cuisine. The vineyards, 100% fiano d'avellino rise on clay soil at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level. The harvest is relatively late and takes place in the first half of October. The fermentation takes place in steel autoclaves and the refinement consists of two steps: 6 months in steel tanks and the following 3 months in the bottle.

Notes on the PDO: The production area includes the entire territory of the municipalities of Avellino, Lapio, Atripalda, Cesinali, Aiello del Sabato, S. Stefano del Sole, Sorbo Serpico, Salza Irpina, Parolise, S. Potito Ultra, Candida, Manocalzati , Pratola Serra, Montefredane, Grottolella, Capriglia Irpina, S. Angelo in Scala, Summonte, Mercogliano, Forino, Contrada, Monteforte Irpino, Ospedaletto D'Alpinolo, Montefalcione, Santa Lucia di Serino and San Michele di Serino, in the province of Avellino. The role of Irpinia in the history of Campania viticulture was so important that the name of "Ferrovia del vino" was given to the Avellino Rocchetta Sant'Antonio railway line. Completely surrounded by vineyards, the province of Avellino offers internationally renowned wines such as Greco di Tufo, Taurasi and Fiano. Fiano is the ancient Campania grape variety that the Latins referred to by the name (Vitis Apiana) because of the sweetness of its grapes that attracted bees. His ampelographic matrix leads him to Hellenic varieties from the Magna Graecia period. The wine produced by it was highly appreciated by Roman consuls and emperors and still today it is reputed to be one of the best white wines in Italy due to its structure and extraordinary finesse.

The producer: The Romano Company was officially founded in 1985 with an experimental field O.T.V. (technological and varietal orientation) followed by the Faculty of Agriculture of Portici and with the collaboration of the Agricultural Inspectorate of Avellino. In 1988 the bottling of the Fiano di Avellino "Apianum" DOC begins and the company is one of the pioneers of Irpinia viticulture. Today the vineyard covers an area of ​​about 4 hectares directly followed by Nicola Romano. The wines produced, exclusively from their own vineyards and in limited quantities, are Fiano di Avellino DOP, Taurasi DOP.
